Overview

A force greater than blizzards, drought, or wild animals threatens the livelihood of the cowboys and cattlemen on the Cherokee Outlet. Land hungry homesteaders stand at the precipice of the last American land rush. Cherokee cowboy Turon Turtle must confront the pending land grab. A young Jewish immigrant ""Levi Kuratowski"" called ""Little Kansas"" by cowboys in his outfit, becomes Turon's unlikely source of help. Together they face outlaws and the elements as they embark on a 600-mile journey to buy and deliver a Hereford bull to the Cherokee Nation. Their trail takes them from the tall grass of the Osage to the Texas panhandle and on to the Ozark foothills. Hostiles, mustangs, brown eyes, and calico all threaten to derail their plans. Gambling his life savings and the soundness of the bull, Turon rides to claim his head right and build a ranch. Levi, forced to choose his own path, must decide if his future lays at the end of their journey. Or will he ride into uncertainty?
