Prior to joining MIT, he received his BSc and PhD from Tel-Aviv University followed by a postdoc at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton. A central theme in his works is the application and development of tools from analysis of Boolean functions towards questions in mathematics of computing, and in particular the fields of probablistically checkable proofs (PCPs) and hardness of approximation.
