Penne Wilson-Gailer spent her first 34 years in Colorado, where she earned a bachelor's degree, got married, had two incredible daughters, and pursued a career as an educator. She spent the next 34 years in Albuquerque, NM, raising her girls, adopting two extraordinary sons, getting a divorce, earning a Master's and a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, and continuing her work in education. A dream to live on an island brought Penne to her new home on Anderson Island, Washington-a richly wooded rural island in the southern waters of Puget Sound in the Salish Sea, shrouded in mystique and populated by colorful characters. She can currently be found working shifts at the General Store, engaging with the Island's creative community, writing, painting, gardening, and wandering trails with her three dogs. She delights in her adventurous grandsons and precocious granddaughter, who loves the Island as much as her grandmother. Writing has been a passion of hers since high school, and she uses it to create vivid emotional imagery.
