I watched the young horses frolic in our front yard. They reared up, spun in a circle and raced to the end of the fence. Their spontaneous joy and delight with life radiated from them as they danced with the wings of the wind in liberty, unfettered and free. Oh, Father God, they are so beautiful, I breathed. With tender love, so gentle in its touch, God's Spirit whispered to mine, That is who you are to me. You are beautiful. Just as you are right now. I watched the frolicking foals continue their lively games, as I pondered these thoughts. I love and value horses for the beauty of who they are, not because of what they can do. That day, God made a bridge and gave me a nudge to help me understand that he loves me the same way. He loves and delights in me because of the beauty of who he made me to be. My value is not hinged to what I do. Instead, it is an intrinsic part of my being that God has woven into me. I asked God to help me live in the freedom of this truth, for I longed to live life with the same liberty as the foals...to be unfettered from the bonds of expectations...to be able to live life...On freedom's wings. Like the story above, this book contains horse stories on faith, hope, and love God as used to teach me in my journey of learning to live as he created me to be - in liberty, unfettered and free.
