Overview

They're fan favorites, the hockey greats of days gone by who still put on a super show. Every year, a team of ex-NHLers, including such legends as Bobby Hull, Tiger Williams, and Frank Mahovlich, travel around Canada playing and raising money for charity. Known as the Oldtimers or Legends of Hockey, they receive the kind of attention that Mario Lemieux and Paul Kariya get today. An award-winning writer joined the team for the trip-and we can come along too, on a rollicking and riveting tour as they travel to the smallest, unlikeliest hockey outposts, and large cities too. There, on the bus, we watch as they drink scotch, smoke 10-inch cigars, and relive their glory days. In the locker room, they chew on tobacco before the game and clink beer bottles afterwards.
