"Old-School Cool: The Life and Times of Paul T. Dyer starts out with a motorcycle journey down the Pacific Coast Highway on a sunny California day. The ride home came to an abrupt stop when Paul took a spill on his bike and had to be transported to the trauma center in Harbor City, California. After spending two months in a drug-induced coma, and strenuous physical therapy, he was released from Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Although grateful to be alive, his same ol', same ol' life was wrenched away. One afternoon, while sitting in his garage and smoking a cigar, his mind went to a rather dark place.
