OverviewDear Readers, How grateful I am for the support of time and talent by the poets who offer their content to the publication of Of Poets & Poetry. I can only imagine that the cumulative hours of reasearch and writing is in the thousands, considering all of the poetry and interesting articles included in each issue. All of us who write poetry know just how cathartic the process can be. For our feature article we have selected the new Poet Laureate of The City of Orlando, Camara Gaither. Camara, a talented performance poet, is also a therapist and uses poetry in her practice. The interview was done by Nikki Fragala Barnes and is a fascinating read. Also, in honor of February being Black History Month, we asked FSPA poet Mary Rogers-Grantham to write an article about Phillis Wheatley, the first black poet to be published in what was then called ""The Colonies."" What is so powerful about her story? Well, I'll let you decide for yourself. See pages 37-40. There is much more worth reading in this issue, just as in all of our issues (in my humble opinion).
