He was previously a design engineer with Rutter Technologies, Canada. He has authored over 230 research papers. His research interests include the mapping of oceanic surface parameters via HF ground wave radar, X-band marine radar, and global navigation satellite systems. He is an associate editor for IEEE ACCESS, IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and an editorial board member of Remote Sensing. Eric W. Gill is an emeritus professor at the Department of electrical and computer engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. He is a senior member of the IEEE. His research primarily deals with the scattering of high frequency (HF) radiation from time-varying random rough surfaces. He also works on the application of HF surface wave radar (HFSWR) operating in an ocean environment. He is an associate editor for IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering.
