OverviewAn international conference on occupational safety and health (OSH) and employability was held in September 1999 to discuss and identify different aspects of the relationship between OSH and employability. As a result, the conference agreed on the importance of this link as a new element in European employment policy. This report gives an overview of the different initiatives in the member states of the European Union that aim to increase the employability of workers by using interventions deriving from the field of occupational health and safety. The report includes relevant case studies and incorporates prevention programmes and programmes aimed at integrating and re-integrating specific groups at work.
