Joep Doerr was a Gynaecologist at HMC Haaglanden Medical Centre and Professor of Postgraduate Medical Training at the Leiden University Medical Centre. He was driven by a passion for educating obstetrics practitioners and modernizing their training. He initiated this book to provide visual insights into obstetric interventions to practitioners around the world. Vincent M. Khouw, founder of VMK Designs, holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Design Engineering from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. As a designer, he has used computer-aided techniques extensively in his work to produce 3-dimensional, insightful illustrations for this book. Frank A. Chervenak, M.D. currently serves as the Given Foundation Professor and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Obstetrician and Gynecologist-in-Chief and the Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College, New York. Amos Grunebaum serves as Chief of Obstetrics at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and is a Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York. Yves Jacquemyn has published over 200 papers in the areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and founded the first Flemish training course in obstetric interventions, which is now compulsory for all Flemish practitioners. Jan G. Nijhuis is the Director of the Centre for Genetics, Reproduction, and Child at the Universiteit Maastricht, Netherlands Medical Centre.
