She obtained her Ph.D. in Bioscience and Master of Science in Biotechnology (2010) from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Her research is focused on cancer, gene therapy, computational biology, natural products and medicinal plants. She is a member of the Royal Society of Biology (MRSB) the United Kingdom, an editor for the SCIREA Journal of Biology, and an assistant executive editor for the International Journal of Advancement in Life Sciences Research. She received the ‘Young Researcher in Biotechnology’ Award at the International Healthcare Awards 2018, Chennai, India. Dr. Methil Kannan Kutty is currently a Professor of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Lincoln University College, Malaysia. Previously, he has served at the Universiti Islam Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UITM, International Medical University, Royal College of Medicine and King Faisal University, Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
