OverviewFollow the children of Edith Hensley/Hall/ Carroll as Don Hensley and her other eleven living children discover the existence of one another during adulthood. Each discovery and story is unique and diverse. All but three of them, who were found after Edith's death, were privileged to develop a relationship with their birth mother. Our many decades of searches for information involved some DNA matches pieced together with census records, other legal documents, Ancestry.com, and some family disclosures, plus hours of discerning truth from misinformation. The oldest sibling, Don, recently discovered his father's family at the age of eighty-two thanks to a DNA match with a cousin. Those new relationships have brought closure by bringing clarity to so many unanswered questions. Mother Edith was never forthcoming with information. Denial seemed to be a survival tactic for her, thus the title for this book. The siblings give credit to God, for the miracle of discovering one another. Their reunions have been joyous events, filled with amazing love and acceptance.
