Before joining the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin in 2005 he was a research scientist at the NASA-Ames Research Center and then a professor of theoretical and applied mechanics at the University of Illinois. He is a faculty member of the Thermal and Fluid Systems program, and serves as the area coordinator for that program. He is also a faculty member in the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, where he is serving as Deputy Director. Prof. Moser is the Director of the DOE-funded Center for Predictive Engineering and Computational Sciences (PECOS).
