Author Information

Marco Filice graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology and obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Pavia, Italy. Dr. Filice is currently a member of the Advanced Imaging Unit of CNIC, Madrid, Spain. Dr Filice has published 53 peer-reviewed publications (25 in top 25%) in high impact factor ISI journals. He was invited as Guest Editor for a Thematic Issue in Current Organic Chemistry. His research interests and expertise is in oriented immobilization of biomacromolecules for the preparation of nanobiohybrid devices useful in diagnosis and therapy (theragnosis) of cardiovascular diseases; characterization of magnetic nanoparticles; surfaces and colloids functionalization; and multimodality molecular imaging. Jesus Ruiz-Cabello is currently Professor of Chemistry and Head of the Advanced Imaging Unit of the University of Madrid, Spain. He graduated in Chemistry from the University of Granada and obtained a doctorate in Physical Chemistry Pharmacy from the University of Madrid. Later he spent time at the National Institute of Health and Georgetown University after getting a Fulbright scholarship. His fundamental research is the field of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) mainly towards the development of methods of ultrafast acquisition and hyperpolarization for molecular imaging. Current research is directed towards biomarkers (multimodality imaging, metabolic and different comics) and in the field of pulmonary and cardiovascular in general, and Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) in particular. He is co-author of over 160 articles and book chapters and co-inventor of four patents, two of them European, and he is the founding partner of a technology-based company Numio Technologies.
