Stanley Krippner, Ph.D., in the foreword, wrote the following: Reiki, the focus of Julia Elizabeth Carroll's remarkable book, is typically used as a complementary healthcare practice in the United States, but it is considered mainstream in some parts of the world. Because of its age it is only natural for Reiki to have developed differently in various parts of the world.
