OverviewThis work examines current research efforts and preclinical approaches in the treatment of sepsis. Emerging ideas on mechanisms of combatting septic shock are discussed, and novel methods are offered for interrupting System Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) that lead to sepsis.
