They are here reprinted, with additions which may be classified under two heads: first, notes which Dr Field at his death left in the final stages of their preparation for publication, and, secondly, supplementary illustrations from classical sources which he had jotted down in the margin of his own copy of the 'Otium.' --from the Preface Author InformationFrederick Field (1801-85) attended Trinity College Cambridge as was later a fellow of that college. He went on to be the rector of a parish for over twenty years and then resigned in order to spend full time on editing Origen's 'Hexapla.' He also edited an edition of the Septuagint and was a collaborator on Payne Smith's 'Thesaurus Syriacus.' Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
