His teaching career spans roles such as Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Orchestra teacher. Nancy Steffa has directed the Charleston County Youth Symphony, was a public school instructor and presented papers at international conferences. Steffas original music, including Three Short Movements for viola and piano, has been performed internationally. His research into the folk music of Bahia, Brazil, earned him the Committee on Institutional Studies and Research Grant. His book, Notes from Afar, reflects his rich musical journey.
