Jo uncovered the extraordinary true story of Hobo's Funnies whilst researching the history of her house in Oxfordshire. Major-General Hobart's name appeared on title deeds relating to a bathroom window, and under the bathroom lino she found Egyptian newspapers dated 1939. Why? When she discovered the answer, she knew this was a story that had to be told.
