I have just turned the last page of 'your mom's memoirs'. I am in total awe of a woman I never knew & feel so grateful to be given insight into & to share in her life. It is, by far, the most compelling account of an horrendous period in time & a poignant dedication of a daughter to her mother, that I have ever read. Denise Shulman, Brisbane, Australia I started reading your Mum's biography and I just could not stop. Thanks to your powerful writing, I feel that I know her, her family, what she went through at that horrific time and what motivated her to ensure that her experiences would be shared to make certain that the Holocaust would never be forgotten. Placing your mother's words so strategically throughout added so much veracity and authenticity to the story. Philip Zavelsky, former owner American Book Store, Brisbane, Australia This is a beautiful tribute to a strong, formidable woman who survived against all odds. Mandy Herbert, Freelance Editor, Melbourne, Australia And now that I have started reading, I cannot put it down... you have created the space for her to live and breathe in your words. Gill Fine, Australia I actually found myself thinking about this book for weeks after I finished reading it. The many voices in the book were a perfect vehicle to express how important Bobba was to her family, and how her experiences during the Holocaust informed and influenced not only all aspects of her life, but the lives of her family members as well. I have read many books about the Holocaust and those who survived it and I really feel that this is a unique work. To have Bobba's actual words from her recordings, added a deep and personal dimension to the book. Pam Weisbrod, Florida, USA

Author Information

Rochy Miller is the daughter of a Holocaust survivor - Lea Leibowitz. This memoire, her mother's story, has been a lifetime in the making. Rochy is a retired medical doctor, who, like her mother, holds a swathe of other qualifications, and dabbles a little in each. She has studied creative writing, and holds both Medical Journalism and Master of Journalism degrees. She has published numerous short stories and articles, as well as a series of Text Books in the field of Aesthetics Education. Originally from South Africa, she now lives in Brisbane, Australia, with her husband - but spends much of her time travelling to Florida, USA, where her two young granddaughters live. When not travelling, she can be found pursuing her other favourite creative pursuits: painting and toy-making, and - like her mother - baking up a storm in her kitchen.
