Author Information

Author and historian Tricia Martineau Wagner is an experienced elementary-school teacher, reading specialist, and independent researcher. In addition to writing, Wagner delivers hands-on, living-history presentations for schools around the country. She lives with her husband and two children. Illustrator Candace Camling teaches children’s classes at Des Moines Art Center. After graduating as valedictorian from Kendall College of Art and Design, she went on to conceptualize plush toy designs and logos for Manley Toy Network. Camling is the illustrator of The Hiding Game, The Southern Twelve Days of Christmas, and The Twelve Days of Christmas—in Texas, That Is, all published by Pelican. When she’s not illustrating, she enjoys cooking and sewing.
