North Carolina Pattern Jury Instructions for Motor Vehicle Negligence Cases (complete set, 1 volume) are sample jury instructions organized by motor vehicle law topic. Trial judges use them for particular cases based on the relevant law and facts and share them with juries as guidance for reaching a decision in their cases. The instructions are created and compiled by The Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, made up of superior court judges assisted by the School of Government. The Committee creates annual supplements, based on changes in statutory and case law. The 2018 edition includes all recent annual supplements.

Author Information

Ann Anderson joined the UNC School of Government faculty in 2007 and serves as an assistant professor of public law and government. Prior to that, she was an associate for six years with the law firm of Kennedy Covington in Raleigh and Durham, where she specialized in real-estate litigation and quasi-judicial proceedings. Anderson earned a BA in history with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a law degree with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where she was a member of the North Carolina Law Review.
