No/Mad/Land

Overview

The Pulldogs leave Rome to embrace a new condition: leaving no trace of their passage, they shape a new challenging lifestyle: wandering around the world as neo-nomads to spread their solarpunk way of living and to engage on a never-ending mission to save endangered human cultures with nanites. But the vision of Alan and Nicolas about how the Pulldogs should live collide, and as a consequence, they split in two groups: one goes North to live in the beautiful wilderness of Siberia and Mongolia, while the other goes South to save the Dogon tribe from a possible extinction due to climate change in Central Africa. But at the end everybody - including a new generation of Pulldogs - will have to come back to Rome, where their incredible transformation started many years before. Sequel to the celebrated The Roamers. AUTHOR: Francesco Verso is a multiple-award Science Fiction writer and editor (3 Europa Awards for Best Author, Best Editor and Best Work of Fiction, 2 Urania Awards for Best Novel, 1 Golden Dragon Award for the promotion of International SF, 2 Italy Awards for Best Editor and Best Novel). He has published: Antidoti umani, e-Doll, Nexhuman, Bloodbusters and I camminatori (made of The Roamers and No/Mad/Land). Nexhuman and Bloodbusters – translated in English by Sally McCorry and in Chinese by Zhang Fan and Hu Shaoyan – have been published in the US by Apex Books, in the UK by Luna press, and in China by Bofeng Culture. He also works as editor and publisher of Future Fiction, a multicultural project dedicated to scouting and publishing the best World SF in translation from more than 30 countries and 12 languages with authors like Ian McDonald, Ken Liu, Liu Cixin, Vandana Singh, Chen Qiufan, and others. From 2019 he's the Honorary Director of the Fishing Fortress SF Academy of Chongqing and a literary agent of Future Wave, an agency that specialized in the import/export of copyright from/to China. Reviews

"This is exciting stuff and is first rate futurism.” James Patrick Kelly, Nebula, Locus and Hugo Award winner ""Our world is closing in. We're in danger of becoming parochial and tribal. This is why Francesco Verso is such an important voice in SF. Here's a writer and publisher from outside the anglosphere, not just reminding us that SFF is a global literature and a global language but working in tireless support of writers and literature from all across the planet. Listen to what he has to say."" -- Ian McDonald ""The Roamers is an urgent, impassioned work for our times that cements Francesco Verso’s place at the forefront of European SF writers working today. Not to be missed!"" -- Lavie Tidhar"
