Noetic Gravity is the kind of book that sneaks up on you-starts quiet, almost too quiet-and then somewhere around chapter four, you realize you're not reading it so much as experiencing it. I didn't expect to feel this gutted by a story about simulated afterlives and memory loops, but here we are. I finished it yesterday and haven't stopped thinking about it since. The world R. P. Gage builds is haunting in the best way-familiar and futuristic at the same time. There's something deeply human in the way the characters stumble through this supposed paradise, each of them carrying weight they can't quite name. Remy's search for truth. Max's silence. Alan's fear of fading out. None of them are perfect, but that's what makes it land. You believe them. You feel them. It's weird, it's smart, and it has heart. There are echoes of Severance and Station Eleven, yeah, but honestly, Noetic Gravity earns its own space. It's a slow burn, but once it catches-it doesn't let go. One of my favorites this year. I'll be handing this one to friends and saying: ""Just read it. Trust me. Author InformationMy debut novel, Noetic Gravity, lands June 10th, 2025. But honestly, I've been telling stories as long as I've had an audience-even if, for years, that meant just myself, a close friend, or my son before bed. I'm a proud Canadian and a dad, and before turning to writing full-time, I spent years teaching and working on the front lines of mental health support. That work-and the people I met-still shapes everything I write.Noetic Gravity isn't your standard-issue speculative fiction. I avoid easy tropes, quick shocks, and the usual parade of chosen ones and world-ending disasters. Instead, I aim for something stranger and truer-a kind of speculative realism that values actual people over plot machinery. If you need a shortcut: picture Alice in Wonderland meets Ready Player One, but with a bit more heart, less bombast, and a sense of humor about its own weirdness. Or, if you like your literary references old school, think The Left Hand of Darkness with a wink, not a sermon.I believe a story can go deep without getting heavy-handed, and that the best moments happen in the quiet spaces between. Noetic Gravity is my attempt at a magnum opus, right out of the gate-starting with my most complex work first and hoping the rest of my writing life gets simpler from here. Now that the book is leaving the safe confines of Gage Force Publishing and heading into readers' hands, I'm equal parts excited, terrified, and deeply grateful.Let's see what gravity brings.
