Noemí, Light as a Feather

Overview

A picture book about perseverance, self-esteem, and ballet for girls ages 4-8 For girls who dream... and for mothers who remember. Do you remember the first time you felt like you couldn't do something? The racing heart. The fear of getting it wrong. And how you tried anyway. Now imagine guiding your daughter through that same moment. Noemí dreams of becoming a ballerina. She wants to dance like her ballet teacher -light, graceful, effortless. But every time she jumps... she lands hard. She feels embarrassed. She compares herself to others. And quietly she tells herself, ""I can't."" In her ballet class, Noemí learns something powerful: talent doesn't appear overnight. Confidence is built through practice. Falling is part of learning. And perseverance transforms fear into strength. Little by little, she discovers that mistakes are not failure-they are steps forward. And one day, she finally lands... light as a feather. A Spanish children's book about confidence and growth. Noemí, Light as a Feather is more than a ballet story. It is a picture book about: - Self-esteem for girls - Growth mindset for children - Perseverance and resilience - Overcoming frustration - Confidence through practice - The beauty of artistic expression This inspiring children's book in Spanish is perfect for girls starting ballet, dance, sports, music, or any new activity that requires courage and practice. Perfect for families who want to: - Encourage confidence without pressure - Teach perseverance with warmth - Share meaningful stories in Spanish - Celebrate the arts and discipline with kindness - Create bedtime conversations about effort and courage Many mothers see themselves in Noemí's story-remembering their own childhood lessons and passing them on through story. Ideal for classrooms and educators This picture book also works beautifully in educational settings, including: - At School Start - Bilingual programs - Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum - Arts education and dance schools - Lessons on growth mindset and resilience Teachers can use this book to open conversations about frustration, persistence, and the learning process. The story includes the ballet choreography sequence, making it ideal for integrating movement and reading in classroom activities or dance workshops. A story that is not only read-but experienced. Recommended for: Girls ages 4 to 8 Ballet lovers Dance schools Spanish-speaking families Classroom libraries Growth mindset learning units A meaningful gift for a young dancer, a first recital, the start of a new school year, or any child who needs a reminder that she can fall... and rise again. Give your child a story that reminds her she can land light as a feather.

Author Information

Federica Miross, is the artistic heart behind Mariana's work. Writing allows her to make sense of the world. With a blend of Mexican and German roots, her stories often capture the vibrant essence of Mexico and Latin America, full of color and warmth.""Through my books, I aim to inspire children to devour books, helping them create the worlds they dreamed of in their first book.""Mariana loves not just books but everything in a stationery store. Besides writing, she enjoys dancing, singing, and doing crafts. She lives in northen Germany with her husband, her two kids and her two doggies. Hola, my name is Ana and I was born in Monterrey, a city in the Northeast from México. I have loved drawing since I was a little girl. I remember that, when I was around 5, a girl came to visit, I think her mom was a friend of mine's. She taught me to draw a face, starting with a big """"U"""", then closing it with an spiral on the top (representing bangs) and from there, continue with the eyes, with a little """"u"""" for the mouth, the nose, etc. I will never forget that moment. In primary and secondary schools I won every drawing contest. Even today, if I have a pencil and a surface to draw, I take the opportunity. I studied arquitecture and loved working in that field, but I did not have much time to draw freely my """"dolls"""". Then I got married and moved to Edinburgh, Scottland, a beautiful city with a lot of charm and full of inspiration. When I became a mom, my children gave me new energy and inspiration; my drawings started to incline to the children's world. My favorite technique since then has been aquarell, it allows for soft images, but full of life. Jennifer Webb has never quite ventured away from the world of children's books. A former elementary school teacher, she now offers a range of editorial services, including translation, all geared toward the children's book market. She lives in Spain with her husband, two kids, and her faithful editorial assistant (i.e., her dog). You can find her at www.jenniferwebbeditorial.com.
