Overview

My name is Elijah Farmer. I am a 19 year old aspiring filmmaker, straight out of film school at Radio Recording Film Connection Institute. Ever since I was a young kid, I have always wanted to be a filmmaker and a creator. I wanted to make my imagination a reality. Growing up, I lived much of my life inside my imagination because the world outside of it often felt like a disaster. I had a rough childhood, and my imagination along with my love for film inspired me to become a filmmaker. This book is about memories from my childhood that inspired my dream and how I continue to chase that dream. I have ADHD, and I was bullied in school. I grew up in a small town called Litchfield, Illinois, a place where people usually don't make it out or accomplish their dreams. It's a town in the middle of nowhere, 45 minutes from St. Louis and five hours from Chicago, often passed by along historic Route 66. This book is meant to inspire kids like me to keep chasing their dreams while remembering what the Lord has done for them. I struggled growing up, but I continued to pursue my dream. In Chapter 7, I talk about a time when I lost myself. An adverse reaction led to depression, which led to suicidal thoughts. I am writing this book to show that no matter what setbacks or bad memories you have, you must keep moving forward and continue chasing your dream. I am already writing another book that will focus on my experience with hallucinations, which will be my next project. The goal of this book is to inspire kids with imagination, ADHD, those who grew up in small towns, and those who were bullied like me not to give up. I talk about my faith throughout the book because I want to be known as someone who has faith. I want to glorify and thank the Lord for saving my life so I can continue pushing forward and chasing my dream.
