Overview

A delightfully relatable picture book about a child that just wants to play and a parent that really has to work! When Dad starts working from home, Penny imagines days filled with fun and games together. In reality though, all Dad does is ""boring stuff"". No matter how fantastic and imaginative her game ideas are, Dad just works, works, works, leaving Penny to wonder - ""Does he not like my games or does he just not like me?"" This touching and relatable story explores the challenges of parents working from home, from a child's perspective. It reassures young readers that they are loved, even if Dad can't play right now, while reinforcing to parents, the importance of making time for their kids.

Honestly, I think almost every parent who has worked from home has struggled with this exact thing. I know I have, which is why this book hit me emotionally. - John Fox, Editor.
