Reviews

“Tourtelot’s writing is direct and suffused with feelings of grief, fear, anxiety, and terror (fitting for our collective moment) but also, vitally, of hope, clarity, empathy, and love. The book’s every sentence practically thrums with a mother’s love, and the overall conclusion is one of great poignance. No One You Know pulls the heart.”—Joshua Ferris, author of A Calling for Charlie Barnes “A deeply satisfying, intimate novel about the fragile filaments that bind us and the ghosts who shape our life. Emma Tourtelot steers through the twists and turns of small-town life in No One You Know. Trust me, this fantastically vivid study of a family come undone is your next book club book.”—Samantha Hunt, author of The Dark Dark “A heartbreaking, keenly observed novel about love and loss and all the territories in between.”—Jenny Offill, author of Dept. of Speculation and Weather “A smart and lovely novel about love, death, family, friendship and, importantly, Mid-Hudson Valley real estate. Grab a flat white and be transported by Tourtelot’s prose.”—Gary Shteyngart, author of Our Country Friends
