OverviewVyt is a poet among poets and likes Holderlin AND Williams. He knows the collision between the grand and the not so grand is a dialectic propelling us forward, the constant and sometimes funny dance the poet, serving Poetry, gets to perform in this decidedly un-Poetic time. He knows this bleak reality is our Reality, and no matter how much Poetry would like to transcend it, Poetry must serve it as it is. Table of ContentsReviewsA WWII survivor, a guy who has experienced the near-miss more than once, this poet knows that life is no joke, or all joke, or sometimes a joke, and so wisecracks sideways in all seriousness and in all jest. Head in clouds, feet on earth. Vyt is a poet among poets and likes Holderlin AND Williams. The self in these poems is still putting in an appearance in the present and the present is a gift, and therefore the narrator will not mourn himself directly. He chooses instead to mourn someone else, his former self, that boy who disappeared into time. This choice...evinces a sweet and earnest desire to get it right, and getting it right is the poet's job. Vyt's poetry demonstrates how being the right size and line by line in time can be a delicious wonder. What a gift, and just in the nick of time. Joe Elliot, author of An Everything Vyt Bakaitis does not raise his voice when he speaks, but his words shine powerfully with a clarity & a depth, echoing our shared emotions with such accuracy. The weightless-ness of a feather; the joyful play of light & shadow; passing fragments of memories... his notion of love goes beyond lust or desire. It guides us to rediscover our genuine selves in the flow of time. No More Time is a desperately needed gift for us all to receive in this overly modernized, self-conscious & busy world we live in. Here, we are invited to slow down to reflect upon ourselves privately & collectively in the luxury of dignified breaths of calmness.
