The author talks about his and his family's life, and how his son's special needs have changed - often for the positive - their lives. He currently is the Training Coordinator for Families in the Outreach Services for the Blind and the Deaf project, one of Florida's state discretionary projects. It is housed at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in Saint Augustine, Florida. Prior to this, he has worked for the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services, the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services, and SunTrust Bank.
