Author Information

Nishani Reed (Author) Nishani Reed lives on a steep hill, which means that her garden is taller than her house! She spends a lot of time up there watching the pigeons on the roof and coming up with funny stories for children. Her first picture book 'Nabil Steals a Penguin', is gorgeously illustrated by Junissa Bianda. Nishani is also an intellectual property lawyer, but none of her picture books contain legal advice. Her next story will probably be about pigeons on a roof. Maria Neradova (Illustrator) Maria Neradova grew up in a small town in western Slovakia in a very non-artistic family. She was successful in becoming a black sheep of the family when, after years of drawing and doodling as a child, she decided to pursue a creative career. She studied Graphic Design at Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic. But after obtaining her BA, she moved on to studying illustration and printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. After finishing school, Maria started working as a freelance illustrator. She likes to vary in between her two main illustration styles, as it keeps her focused and loving her job.
