Table of ContentsReviewsI rate this very highly and would certainly recommend it to anyone * Model Armour * Those wanting an up-close and personal memoir of small unit infantry during Operation Overlord have an opportunity to receive it from an American fighting man who lived to tell the tale. * Military Magazine * ... this is an absolute gem of a book and a must for anyone interested in the Normandy campaign. * Combat and Survival * I found the book a fascinating read, and being there at the time I was reading it brought to life both the location I was in and added a better understanding of the book, and how it must have felt for the veterans who had to fight, and in many cases die, in that particular corner of a foreign field. A really well balanced and authoratative account. * www.militarymodelling.com * This is a fascinating look at the actions of the 82nd Airborne at La Fiere and Cauquigny. * Wargames Soldiers & Strategy * ... an objective narrative of the countless acts of heroism, almost breathtaking in its 'you are there' detail. * World War II Re-enactors Magazine * I rate this very highly and would certainly recommend it to anyone * Model Armour * ... an objective narrative of the countless acts of heroism, almost breathtaking in its 'you are there' detail. * World War II Re-enactors Magazine * This is a fascinating look at the actions of the 82nd Airborne at La Fiere and Cauquigny. * Wargames Soldiers & Strategy * I found the book a fascinating read, and being there at the time I was reading it brought to life both the location I was in and added a better understanding of the book, and how it must have felt for the veterans who had to fight, and in many cases die, in that particular corner of a foreign field.
