Nine Pairs of Boots in Vietnam

Overview

Nine Paris of Boots in Vietnam is a sobering reminder of the internal damage often suffered by combat veterans and others with PTSD. In the author's words, ""I've had a story to tell from the moment I stepped back onto American soil in 1970 after serving in Vietnam for a year, but it took 50 years for that story to find the right words, and for those words to find their voice. My time in Vietnam ended in 1970, but I carried my experiences home with me like a heavy backpack full of unprocessed emotion. The ugliness of war was strapped to my back, and I carried the burden with me, unable to put it down."" The real life stories told by the authors, along with the ""After Action Review"" with nine steps to healing provide practical tools for veterans and family members dealing with PTSD and transitions from military to civilian life.

Reviews

As an active duty soldier with nearly 17 years of service and 45 months of that spent in 3 different combat zones, I can think of scores of buddies who need this book in their hands right now. This book cannot go into print fast enough. It should be on every Chaplain's shelf, and at every VFW and American Legion Hall . MAJ Byron (Wes) Wilson, SOF Plans Officer, Combined Arms Center Special Operations Directorate, U.S. Army J.F.K. Special Warfare Center & School I have never read a book about war with so much hope. Nine Pairs of Boots in Vietnam didn't leave me remembering the vileness of combat, but mindful of a mighty God who is with us in the darkest part of the night, the lowest part of the earth, down deep in caves, in the middle of jungles, where the only light is what can be found in the human soul JM Huxley, award winning author, speaker, podcaster, and nationally syndicated news anchor. The interweaving of Steve and Rosie's experiences is a powerful testimony of peace and joy through Christ while still providing an honest look at the harmful effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The After Action Review with nine steps to healing provide a road map for transitioning from the war front to the home front. Major General Gene Krase, retired
