ABOUT THE TRANSLATOR Daniel Hoyt Daniels has translated many French and Italian classic comedies, mostly in verse, by Molière, Pierre Marivaux, Carlo Goldoni, Alberto Nota, Alessandro Gnagnatti, and others, and has written several plays and numerous short stories as well. He has lived abroad for many years and now teaches Romance languages in the United States, dividing most of his time between Galveston, Texas and Beaufort, South Carolina.
