OverviewCaptain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, affectionately called 'Nimbu Saab', is a lesser known hero of the Kargil War. He belonged to the second battalion of the Rajputana Rifles. It played a crucial role in defending Point 4590 - an operation during which it lost twenty-three soldiers. One of the fallen heroes was the twenty-five-year-old Captain Kenguruse, who led his men barefoot into combat in temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius. Kenguruse was posthumously awarded the country's second highest gallantry award, the Maha Vir Chakra. Even so, his story remains relatively unknown.
