Nonostante si tratti di un tema ampiamente discusso nel dibattito pubblico, non esistono ancora, a livello internazionale e nazionale, studi scientifici specificamente dedicati a esplorare pratiche e forme di applicazione, storia, prospettive e problematiche, attori e fruitori, effetti sociali e ambientali connessi all'uso degli NFT nell'ambito del patrimonio dell'arte e della cultura.
