His service includes twenty-eight years in the United States Army and thirteen years as a U.S. Department of Defense civilian. A former Harvard National Security Fellow, he most recently served as the Associate Dean at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, a German-American security cooperation partnership located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
