Reviews

(Markus Bauer, MEDIENwissenschaften 04/2016)

This is a fascinating and timely look at an especially dramatic example - the case of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, after it announced it would publish in print only three days a week - of a global phenomenon, the radical downsizing of newspaper editorial staffs. The authors do an admirable job of exploring all the journalistic, economic, and political aspects of their case study, in ways that are of far more than local interest. (Nicholas Lemann, Professor of Journalism & Dean Emeritus, Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University)
