He has lived in various regions of America and travelled widely across the country like a modern day John Steinbeck. In an even greater burst of wanderlust, at one point he lived abroad for 7 years. He spent nearly a year traveling in Israel. Next, while living in Europe he traveled extensively to over 20 countries during the time of the fall of the Berlin wall and the collapse of the former Soviet Union. He is passionate about travel, history, current events and global trends. Two of his most inspirational writers are James Michener and David McCullough. In keeping with his love of travel, he is also a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA). After decades of varied life experiences, Robert is now a full-time writer. He loves research and a wide range of reading. He has written a screenplay on Francis Scott Key. He has also recently co-authored a book on the life of Sam Smith, the hero of the Defense of Baltimore during the War of 1812 (see Sam Smith: Star-Spangled Hero). He offers Author's Battle of Baltimore Tours along with his co-author, Dr. Marc DeSimone. Robert recently co-authored a fictional novel titled Last Shepherd which is also available on Amazon.com He is working on several other new projects due out in 2016. Robert volunteered as a judge for the 2015 National History Day competitions at the local level as well as for the National Finals held at the University of Maryland at College Park (see nhd.org). Robert holds a Bachelor degree in General Liberal Arts (magna cum laude), a Master of Science in Environmental Biology, and an MBA. He and his wife live in Maryland within the Greater Washington DC Capitol Region. They both enjoy following baseball, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and loving their dog, Ella (Bella, a rescue mutt) and two Persian cats (Douggie & Marcello).
