Cheryl S. Merritt received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Maryland. She has given workshops on autism to graduate educators as well as authored several articles on autism including A.P.P.E.C.I.A.T.E. the Child with Autism. She lives with her husband Jerry and son David in North Carolina along with her three rescued cats.
