OverviewHi I'm Dave and I created a lightweight multi-passenger off-road camper. The whole world is going insane and the lunatics are in charge. Therefore I Converted two motorized mountain bikes into a multi-passenger off-road bugout camper just in case the stuff hits. I Started with two motorized bikes built per manufacturer's instructions and complete a 500 km break-in as recommended from April to December 2020 (Approximately 8 months) The engines are still running just fine. Reliability based on actual test results were very good. I did not think they would last that long. Now, I am a believer. I connected two bicycles with thin walled 3/4 steel conduit. I adding a top structure to support a water proof canvas tarp for sun screen and rain protection Maybe replace the canvas tarp with fiberglass and use aluminum conduit for additional weight reduction Also I included a multi-passenger back bench attached on the frame. It can carry a small family including pets My Analysis shows an 800 lb load back bench capacity with a 2.7 safety factor. I thought maybe I could tie a couple of hammocks above for good measure. Another feature I included is an all-around drop-down curtain that could be used as a privacy tent for showers attached with velcro strips, zippers or hooks PadLockable storage box could be mounted behind the passenger seat and a cargo carrier attached if required.A Water bladder could be mounted on the top structure.Power to move the vehicle comes from bicycle petals, 2 stroke gasoline engine and or a Brush-less DC (BLDC )front wheel electric motor connected to a 48 volt lithium battery pack and charged with a solar panel. The right throttle is used for the gas and the left throttle may be used for the BLDC packI created a 3D CAD model layout and drawings in pdf format. All things considered this could be a perfect Survival Utility vehicle The off-road camper could be lifted over fence obstacales and cross rivers.Inexpensive, easy to repair, build, and assemble, with standard off-the-shelf materials, Ready to gothe kit may be disassembled and stored in the garage, Great gas mileage with 175 km / liter Street legal with No license, No registration and No Insurance required in my StateThis could be a great project for those with some mechanical ability.
