A Professor Emeritus at University of Guelph, he was founding president of Veterinarians without Borders-Canada. In 2022, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada. His books include The Origin of Feces, Eat the Beetles! An Exploration into Our Conflicted Relationship with Insects, On Pandemics, and the memoir A Conspiracy of Chickens. Nathan Dueck, editor of the Lyrik Poetry Series, is the author of three collections of poetry, king's(mere) (2003), he'll (2014), and A Very Special Episode (2019). Raised in Manitoba, he did his BA and MA in English at University of Manitoba, and in 2009 received his doctorate from University of Calgary. He now lives in Cranbook, BC, and teaches English and Creative Writing at College of the Rockies.
