Author Information

Dr. Raj Selladurai is an Associate Professor of Management in the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University Northwest. He also serves as Small Business Institute (SBI) Director for the School of Business and Economics. In addition, he has owned and managed a consulting business in the energy industry and other related areas. His research interests focus on servant leadership, business-healthcare collaboration, leadership effectiveness, operations/supply chain management, and high-speed rail/supply chain management. Recently, he led a project team as the Lead Project Director and completed a book project, “Challenges and Opportunities for Healthcare Reform.” The team consisted of two business professors (Dr. Raj Selladurai and Dr. Charlie Hobson (Professors, Indiana University Northwest), and two physicians (Dr. Roshini Selladurai, MD, In His Image, OK, and Dr. Adam Greer (MD, St John, Ascension Healthcare, OK)) who worked collaboratively on the healthcare project. They completed it in 2019, and IGI Global published it in February 2020. In addition, Raj Selladurai was invited to participate in Harvard University’s “What’s next for US healthcare reform? Seminar at Harvard University School of Public Health in Boston, MA. Healthcare Reform in the US is an ongoing, significant national initiative with strategic policy implications, which would affect several millions of stakeholders in the US, especially in the coming election. Incidentally, some of the significant healthcare reform-related issues that we in the US are facing and managing today and will be in the future have been addressed and discussed in our book, completed in 2019! Dr. Selladurai has published several papers, chapters, and case studies in various management and operations management-related business publications and journals, including co-editing (with Shawn Carraher) a book on “Servant Leadership: Research and Practice.” He also co-edited with Peggy Daniels Lee and George VandeWerken his other recent book, “Emerging Challenges and Opportunities of High-Speed Rail on Business and Society,” which was published by IGI Global, Inc. All his innovative books are being actively promoted on social media like Twitter, with impressive results of around 33,000+ impressions per month and growing! He has over 30 years of academic and professional business experience, including completing a Professional Certificate in “Servant Leadership: Path to High Performance” Executive Education Seminar at the prestigious Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He also completed another Certificate in Organizational Behavior at Harvard Business School, Harvard University. He has also taught business management courses as Visiting Professor at universities in Austria and Switzerland. He has diverse leadership and administrative experiences in various organizations, including serving as a Lead Elder, finance deacon, and Group Leader at Bethel Church, Crown Point, Indiana, as a Group Leader at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), and in other roles at the university, community, business, and other professional service organizations. Raj also serves as a Board member of the Agape Asia nonprofit organization that provides holistic services to children worldwide. Dr. Selladurai’s current project is to continue integrating SAP (Systems, Applications, Products), the world-renowned Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, in the Operations Management courses and the IU Online programs to help benefit students gain a competitive edge in their jobs and careers. Charles J. Hobson Charlie has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Purdue and is currently a Professor of Management in the AACSB-accredited School of Business and Economics at Indiana University Northwest, where he has taught MBA and undergraduate classes in Human Resource Management, Leadership, Teamwork, Organizational Behavior, and Entrepreneurship since 1981. In addition, Charlie has 189 professional publications/presentations, 4 books, and 1 book chapter on HR-related topics, has provided training/consultation services to 205 organizations (Fortune 100 to new start-ups), and functioned as an expert witness in 41 cases involving workplace and educational discrimination. Roshini Selladurai , M.D., is a board certified Family Medicine physician at Mayo Clinic with additional board certification in Obesity Medicine. She is also an Assistant Professor in Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Dr. Selladurai attended medical school at Indiana University. She trained in Family Medicine with an emphasis on whole person care, global health, and medical missions at In His Image Family Medicine residency in Tulsa, OK. She received her board certification in Obesity Medicine in 2021. Dr. Selladurai’s clinical practice focuses on whole person care, education, preventative medicine, and obesity medicine. She aims to provide compassionate, holistic care and education so patients feel heard and experience hope. Her research interests include physician burnout, research writing, teamwork in healthcare, and lifestyle medicine. She and her husband enjoy spending time with family, friends, church community, and exploring the outdoors with their golden retriever. Tony Spaulding joined Mayo Clinic as Quality Improvement Advisor in August of 2008. Since then, Tony has held roles as Senior Health Systems Engineering Analyst and Operations Manager within General Internal Medicine. In 2015, Tony joined Provider Relations as an Operations Administrator working with the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Tony has also served as an instructor with the Mayo Clinic Quality Academy, helping to develop and deliver a broad-based quality management curriculum for Mayo Clinic staff. In 2021 Tony joined the Midwest Department of Family Medicine as an Operations Administrator that oversees 50+ clinics throughout the midwest. Tony has Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Saint Mary’s University and a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Saint Mary’s. Tony also holds a Certification in Lean Principles from the University of Michigan. Tony holds academic ranks as an Assistant Professor in Health Care System Engineering and as an Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration with the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. Prior to his employment at Mayo Clinic, Tony spent fifteen years as an Engineer and Lean Engineer for a large manufacturer of heavy construction equipment. Tony is a Minnesota native. He and his wife, Kelly, have four children.
