Author Information

Beverly Amer is a Principal Lecturer of CIS and Accounting in the W. A. Franke College of Business at Northern Arizona University (NAU). She is a Faculty Fellow in the school's University College, and is course coordinator for Introduction to Computer Information Systems, a liberal studies course required for numerous majors. Her most recent achievements include recognition with NAU's President's Award for pedagogy innovation, and teaching awards within her college and the Liberal Studies program. Prior to her current appointment in 1993, she was on the faculty of the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida for 5 years, and taught MIS courses as part of the business school's CCTV program. Beverly has been an author with Cengage since 2007 on Computers in Our World, Portfolio Projects for Soft Skills, and Emerge with Computers. Her passion is creating relevant and engaging course content for today's college students so they are equipped with the skills necessary for success in work and life.
