Author Information

Ryan Adam was born on the bayou and grew up in Houma, Louisiana. An avid reader, writer, and filmmaker, Adam works in the hospitality industry and as a film-production assistant. Two of his screenplays were semi-finalists for the 2006 Writer's Network Annual Screenplay and Fiction Competition, and he has had several short stories published in Delgado Community College's award-winning literary magazine, Images. Adam lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. Marita Gentry is a professional artist whose artwork is featured in galleries throughout Louisiana. A recipient of numerous awards and commissions and an accomplished teacher, she is involved in several artist-in-residence programs each year. Gentry's other titles with Pelican include Beware, Beware of the Big Bad Bear!, Madame Poulet and Monsieur Roach, The Cajun Cornbread Boy, The Gigantic Sweet Potato, There's a Dragon in the Library, and Dinosaur Mardi Gras.
