OverviewWe all know that universities are hotbeds of research activity but what is little understood is how many new ideas never make it beyond the classroom. These are the research projects conducted by students, often comprising innovative proposals and recommendations yet being left to languish once they have fulfilled their purpose of achieving a grade. Furthermore, the grade awarded reflects only the extent to which the marking criteria have been met, not the inherent value of the ideas contained within. The purpose of New Horizons publications, part of the Greenwich Pilot Series, is to bring these ideas to a wider audience. The contributions here are adapted from essays, consultancies and research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Taking a light touch to editing, the true voice of these students is allowed to come through, along with their brilliant ideas. Without doubt, we are witnessing the entry of a new generation of leaders into the business world.
