Overview

Breast cancer is the cancer which develops in the breast tissue. Being obese, lack of physical exercise, alcohol consumption, early puberty, not having children or having children late, and hormone replacement therapy can increase the risks of developing breast cancer. There is an element of genetic susceptibility to the disease, due to inheritance of BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Breast cancer can be ductal carcinomas or lobular carcinomas.
