Overview

Our village is old and crumbly and will sadly soon fall down. We need to make lots more friends, to help us build another town. Alina, Gina, Tristan and Crispin are the Dinky Amigos, off on an adventure to find some new friends and create a brand new village. Told in rhyme and pictures, this story introduces children to a whole world of entirely new characters and situations. Their quest also reflects the process by which DNA within the old or damaged cells of our body creates copies of itself to occupy new cells. A supplement at the end of the book describes this process in biological terms. Students getting to grips with the vocabulary and chemistry used in the description of mitosis should be better able to visualise the process. Illustrations also contain key features of the protein chemistry involved.
