Author Information

Jan Gehl is an architect and professor of urban design at the School of Architecture, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He has been awarded the Sir Patrick Abercrombie Prize for exemplary contributions to town planning by the International Union of Architects as well as an honorary doctorate from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Lars Gemzøe is an architect and senior lecturer in urban design at the School of Architecture, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and at DIS, Denmark's International Study Program in Copenhagen.
