Overview

Monica Yuzak was born in a small northern town in Saskatchewan to hardworking parents who raised five daughters on a single wage. Even though they provided stability and love, Monica could not wait to leave home and experience what the world had to offer. With her freshly minted medical degree in her back pocket and a baby daughter in her arms, she did just that. She lived and worked in Papua New Guinea, the Northwest Territories, and New Zealand, never staying still for too long. When her daughter, turned thirteen, she knew she had to keep her promise, and they settled in Vancouver, where Monica discovered that travel could be as much about seeing her surroundings with a fresh perspective as physically exploring faraway places. Monica Yuzak lives with her partner, Yves Trudeau, and they spend their time between Burnaby, British Columbia, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Her daughter, Anika, lives in Vancouver and comes to Mexico when she can.
